Moulsecoomb Park near Brighton was the regular venue for organiser Anthony Rogers and Brighton Excelsior CC until 2004 when they switched to Happy Valley and which saw Preston Park Youth CC takeover.
Moulsecoomb Park was great fun because of the grass banks but dog poo, walkers and other users such as football made it a difficult place to promote at.
Sadly the park is also associated with profound grief as it was here that the two bodies of young girls were found in what became known as the ‘Babes in the Wood Murders’. There was a small impromptu memorial in place away from our races when I last visited.
Sagely Brian Curtis said of this of Moulsecoomb: “Brighton! Nicknamed Dog shit park.”
Philip Glowinski: “Such a great course with all the banks”.
